Rectangular direct south-facing dial above the porch.
A well engraved dial that shows 6am to 6pm in half and quarter hours. The rectangular chapter ring has vertical Roman numerals that use XII for noon and IV for 4pm. The date, 1784, is engraved prominently.
The motto over the dial reads: “Life’s but a walking shadow”.
The simple strap gnomon has a single straight supporter. There is no noon gap but the gnomon is quite thin.
The dial, and the original tower clock, were the gift of William Benson Earle.
