The screen is rotated until a bright line appears on the dial giving a direct reading of the time. As an equatorial dial it can be mounted at almost any latitude. Engraved on stainless steel with an acrylic backing it makes an attractive garden feature. Each instrument is provided with a graphical representation of the equation of time.
