Although Paul Quick did a fine job on this slate dial on the tower in 1737 he is not known to have made any others. Below the winged head the misspelled motto, “The Glory of the World Paseth” is more familiar in its Latin form. The dial declines slightly east and shows the hours VI – V divided into halves and quarters. There are crossbones at either side of the gnomon root. The gnomon is probably a replacement. Cracks across the dial plate were not recorded when Mrs Crowley drew the dial in 1961.
