BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Horizontal dial on a solid oak disc 500mm in diameter on a post. Numbers and declination lines carved into the wood. Gnomon is formed of a wooden wedge (c. 60mm wide) topped by an aluminium plate whose sides cast the shadow, and which also explains the EOT adjustments needed, which are longitude adjusted. Dial delineated for a latitude 10 degrees less than the actual value, the support post is cut at a corresponding angle, with the intention that water will run off the dial face rather than pool as it would on a flat surface.
