BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Norfolk

This dial in Welsh slate was designed by Sir Mark Lennox-Boyd and engraved with calligraphy by Chatlotte Howarth of Making-Marks, Kings Lynn, Norfolk. It is embedded directly in the lawn to the south of the house, and shows hours V - XII - IV - VII, read from the outside, with full length hour lines and quarter-hour lines between labelled Summer- and Winter-Solstice curves. The gnomon is gold plated, and the hour lines and numerals, and a sun disc at the gnomon root, are gold-leafed. Across the south side, in the gap in the chapter ring, read from the north, is ’LE ROY LE VEULT’ and below, in much smaller letters is ’MALB CH 2024 52 57 01 N’.
