BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Borde Hill, Ansty and Staplefield

This simple armillary sphere is formed from three semi-circular arcs, with a 6mm rod gnomon which is incorrecftly installed to face NE. The hour ring carries engraved Roman numerals. It is mounted on an attractive old stone baluster pedestal with additional decoration, which probably originally held a better dial.
