BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Grampian Region

The dial was designed and made by Carole Vincent, painter and sculptor, using coloured concrete. Delineation was by Colin McVean. It commemorates the owners’ 30th wedding anniversary, and was awarded Highly Commemded in one of the BSS design competitions. It was originally installed in Derbyshire, and is now relocated in Elgin. Across the top of the dial are the dates ’1963 1993’, and round the edges are the upright Arabic hour numerals for 5am to 2pm. The hour lines are grey, with no minute divisions. The gnomon is concrete, 25 thick, secured by a tenon, and its conceptual root is above the dial plate, the hour lines falling appropriately. Ref: See Wikipedia for Carole Vincent, and see SRN 2177 for her Armada dial in Plymouth.
