BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

This is a free-standing vertical dial with an angled solar calendar slab behind. It is made of cast glass reinforced concrete with a Corten steel gnomon. The dial has full length hour lines with a noon gap, with 6 and 9am, and 3 and 6pm, labelled with upright Arabic numerals, and NOON also marked. Below is inscribed ’TIME / TIDE / SHADOW / FAILEAS’ (Faileas is Scots Gaelic for Reflection). A central hole casts a spot of light on the reclining slab with a noon line, flanked by the months, each with a note of features of the natural environment associated with that time of year.
