BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.
Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.
The dial is mounted on the stone wall of the school, supported by a substantial corbel, rounded across the length and at the ends. It appears to be carved from a single block of stone incorporating an arched hood and a smiling sun face. In the arch is inscribed ’ARISE AND SHINE’. It uses upright Arabic hour numerals for 6am to 6pm, with ’+’ for noon. Hour lines run to a small semicircle. More photos and better location details requested.
