BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

This memorial armillary sphere is mounted high on a rear extension, and includes dates of 1985 and 1991. It is held in a hemi-spherical mounting cage but unfortunately it is not correctly oriented therein, the gnomon rod being horizontal. The hour ring is labelled ’GMT’ and uses Roman numerals, showing half and quarter hours. The equatorial and meridian rings are so inscribed. There is a lengthy motto in Italian which includes ’. . . SENZA PALARDA TUTTI SON . . . ESCO SENZA PALESCO FAR RO . . .’ (probably subject to mis-readings).
