BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The Volunteer Public House, Sutton Abinger

The dial is on the south-west facing wall at first floor level, above the door. It is only known from this photograph, but appears to be of slate, with white furniture and a gold decorative insert at the centre. There are three lines of text across the bottom. The bar gnomon has a horizontal support. Better photograph requested. [The Volunteer was temporarily closed as at February 2024.]
