Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Bogle Wood, Springfield

There are four vertical stone dials on this impressive ashlar monument. Largely from the Scottish Sundial Register of Dennis Cowan: This is a 10ft high structure on a single circular pillar with twisted columns at three corners (the north one is missing). The pillar bears the motto ’PEREUNT / ET / IMPUTANTUR’, and the date ’1873’ with a monogram and crown above. There are coats of arms above each face and the high central pillar has a broken finial. All is mounted on a stepped octagonal base. The SE face shows 6am to 2 pm, the SW 10am to 8pm, the NW 4pm to 8pm, and the NE 4am to 8am. All use aligned Roman numerals divided to half and quarter hours, using IV and XII. The gnomons are missing, leaving four square mount holes for each.
