BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Ladysmith Barracks, Ashton-under-Lyne

The dial is on the left pillar of an arch at the entrance to the Barracks, below a blue plaque to William Forshaw who was awarded a Victoria Cross in WWII. It shows hours VI - XII -II, with a gnomon gap at IX, and hour and half-hour lines bewteen implicit solstice and horizon curves. The design can also be seen at SRN 8483 and 6018, both also in Tameside.
