BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Coire Dubh, Inner Hebrides

The dial was commissioned by Scottish Natural Heritage, and designed and made ByTim Chalk. It describes the life cycle and migration habits of the Manx Shearwater, and is located on a footpath leading to an important colony of the birds. The cast iron bird with open wings acts as gnomon, casting its shadow on the horozontal plate at the spot with the relevant information. The steel was cut by Forth Steel.
