BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Chepstow Road, Trellech

The dial is in a grassy area on the west side of Chepstow Road, some 40 m south of the Methodist Church. It is a near copy of Lady Probert’s dial in the church (SRN 2239). The south and north gnomons are as on the original, and as there the east gnomon is missing, being represented here by just one horizontal bar. Below the dial are inscriptions on the substantial column, with carvings that relate to the 3 features of historical importance to the village and its community: Tump Terret; Harold’s Stones; and Virtuous Well.
