BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

This combination horizontal and lectern dial stands on a sheet of Corten steel installed on the stump of a felled tree. It is of cast bronze in a Jesmonite shell, with a substantial gnomon. Inscribed around the horizontal perimeter is ’We find no Vestige of a Beginning; No Prospect of an End’, from the C18th geologist James Hutton. Hour lines are labelled with Roman numerals, VII - XII - IV - V on the horizontal, with a noon gap, and VI - VI on the reclining lectern section. The gnomon has a projecting nodus, and solstice and equinox curves are marked on the horizontal.
