BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Parish Church, Cleish

The dial is sunk flush into the stone wall of the church. The arched top encloses a five-petalled rose. Below that is the date ’1732’ followed by initials, possibly ’IL’. Upright Arabic numerals are used for 6am to 6pm, with hour lines to a semi-circle around the root of the gnomon which is pierced and possibly of copper. Below the dial is a memorial stone to an RAF engineer killed in WW II.
