BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Devon

The dial is mounted high on a cast iron decorative post. It is west facing and indicates the hours remaining for gardening with Arabic numerals 7 to 1. The furniture consists of a gold leafed sun, gold leafed flowers, and gold leafed bees. The phrase below the flowers is ‘Heaven is the sun, flowers, and the buzzing of bees’.
