BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The dial is at the entrance to the cottage, facing the lane and declining 8 degrees west of south. It displays hours 7am to 6pm, each marked with a group of dots, with hour and half-hour lines terminated by the summer and winter equinox curves. The tip of the small triangular gnomon acts as the nodus. Across the lower half of the dial is ’Venn Ottery Solar Time’, and the date ’2015’ is in small characters at the bottom right, with ’MABJ’ at the bottom left.
