BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Ormesby Hall [NT] (2), Middlesbrough

This spherical dial and the following one (SRN 8402) form a pair standing on the pillars of a high gateway abutting the western end of the northern frontage of the Hall. The equatorial hour ring is marked with Roman numerals, using XII and IV, divided to half and quarter hours, the time being read from the shadow terminator. The gateway was moved to this location from elsewhere in 1935.
