BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Four Points Hotel, Horley

The dial is at the east end of the south-facing wall of the hotel, just below the eaves. Across the top is ’Wm Younger’ (the brewery) and at the bottom ’The / Chequers’ (the former name of the public house), all the wording having been gilded or painted yellow. The dial face itself shows 5am to 7pm with upright Arabic numerals, with no subdivisions but full length hour lines to a small semicircle around the gnomon root. All the furniture appears to be embossed on a blue/grey rectangular board with decorative scrolled edges, and the gnomon has two scroll supports.
