BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Tyme Cottage, Innerwick

The dial is sunk flush into the brick wall at the eastern end of the cottage, above a larger slate slab with the verse: ’O’ER EVERY HOUR THAT’S BRIGHTEST / A SHADOW CREEPS / AND WE WHOSE LAUGH IS LIGHTEST / FULL OFTEN WEEPS / O LOOK FOR WE THE MORROW / WHICH HATH NO NIGHT / WHEN LOST IS EVERY SORRPW / IN GOD’S OWN LIGHT / SIC TRANSIT GLORIA MUNDI / SO PASSES AWAY THE GLORY OF THE WORLD’. Across the top of the dial stone is ’TEMPUS FUGIT’. The dial is delineated for a very small declination to the west, with upright hour numerals VII - XII - IIII - VI, with hour lines to a small semicircle around the gnomon root, half hour lines ending in spear heads, and short quarter hour lines. The gnomon has a scrolled support, and is held to the dial plate by four bolts or rivets.
