BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

West Park, Long Eaton

The dial was designed and constructed by Stuart Allan, working with the Friends of West Park. It is the centrepiece of the Planet Garden, with flower beds reflecting the positions and characteristics of the planets. The dial shows GMT hours 6am to 6pm, using black tesserae in place of numerals, set in small square concrete blocks, while yellow tesserae show BST hours. Noon is marked with a flat triangular stone positioned to mark the summer solstice, the tip of the gnomon acting as nodus. Further to the north is a triangular pyramid to catch the winter solstice shadow. There is a stone to the south of the dial, from which to view equinox arches to the east and west, and a winter solstice arch to the south east. Other solstice arches may also be present.
