BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

This excellent small dial stands on the lawn some distance to the south of the house. It has a 5-petal rosette at the centre and around the screw-hole at each corner. The 8-point compass rose is labelled to NE etc. The hours IIII - XII - IIII - VIII are read from the inside, with a noon gap, and divided to 30, 15 and 7.5 minutes inside the chapter ring, and to 30, 10 and 2 minutes outside, the 10s labelled in Arabic. The half-hours are marked inside and outside the chapter ring with triple dots. The gnomon is a replacement. The dial was originally found in poor condition and was restored in 2014 by Brad Dillon - see Bulletin 27(ii) (June 2015) pp36-37.
