BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Peter’s Church, Ilminster

The dial is high on the tower, over the entrance, and is canted out 2.4° on the west side to face due south. It shows 6am to 6pm using upright Roman numerals VI - XII - IIII - VI, with hour lines to a small circle around the gnomon root, which contains a six-pointed star. Half hours are shown with a fleur-de-lys and quarters with a short line in a band within the chapter ring. There is an inscription across the top but it is illegible now, possibly starting ’C. W. ’. The iron blade gnomon is about 10 thick and 40 wide and has an S shaped support.
