BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

1-10 The Almshouses, Etwall

The dial is one of a pair on the two chimneys of the almshouse, each stack built at 45 degrees to the frontage. This one is on the stack to the east of the central archway. It is formed from powder-coated aluminium with the furniture black on a white ground. A circle around, but not centred on, the gnomon root extends above the top side of the dial. The hour numerals are upright, IX - XII - IIII - VIII, with hour lines to the circle. The gnomon is a thin rod with a straight rod support at the end.
