BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The dial is on the wall of the house between windows, overlooking the garden. It is in the shape of a superellipse, using the elliptical factor 2.7. The 3mm brass gnomon springs from a gilt flaming sunburst and has a nodus disc on the style, parallel to the plane of the dial, tracing a date curve labelled 5 August 1978 (a wedding anniversary). Vertical Roman hour numerals are used, for VI am to V pm, with IV for 4pm and noon omitted. The motto at the upper edge is: ’SOL ADVENIT’ (the sun has come). The hour lines and date curve are light grey. The badge of St Edmund Hall, Oxford, UK, is on the vertical noon line below the date curve, with a gilt cross and four choughs in outline, but no shield. The circular slate EOT correction chart (320 dia) will be placed near the dial.
