BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Recreation Ground, Coton

This is a simple garden-centre dial with a false date of 1690, and an 8-point compass rose labelled to NE etc. It has hour numerals IIII - XII - IIII - VIII, read from the outside, with a noon gap, and divided to 30, 15 and 7.5 inutes. The square-section rod gnomon has an ’S’ support. It is mounted on a large square headstone on a slender bottle-shaped pedestal which stands on a substantial square stone base, itself on an old square flag.
