BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The dial is in the garden at the south end of the Square, through memorial gates. It is sited on the bank of the river Welland and can be reached through a gap in the wall of Tesco’s car park. It stands on an octagonal pillar with a capping stone. The dial block is sandstone, with an inset gnomon of granite. Across the top are the hour numerals V - XII - IV - V. There is an EoT on the vertical north face, corrected for longitude and labelled ‘Dial slow, dial fast, minutes + and - , add one hour for summer time’. Some blue colouring is evident in places but no colouring is apparent in the incisions of the south face of the dial.
