BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St John of Beverley’s Church (1), Driffield

The dial is highish on the west side of the south wall of the tower. It is very clearly scribed but by an amateur hand, the lines not straight and the numerals irregular. Hour lines run to a semicircle around the gnomon root and there are short half-hour lines. The gnomon is missing but there are two mounting holes, at the root and a third of the way up the noon line. 6am to 9am hours, and 3pm to 6pm, are in Arabic, and 10am to 2pm in Roman, but 11am is shown as IX. 8am shows a large clear ’4’. SRN 8278 on the same church may be by the same hand.
