BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Quay Trail, Londonderry

The Fort George interactive sundial is to be found embedded in the sandstone deck of the refurbished jetty on the banks of the river Foyle near the Sainsbury’s supermarket in Derry City. There is an inscription around the south of the dial ’TIME AND TIDE WAIT FOR NO ONE’, and a plaque with instructions is embedded above the date line. Ref: Michael Harley, www.sundials-ireland.com
