BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The dial is inscribed ’MADE BY THOMAS McCREASH ANNO DOMINI 1821’, with the owner’s name, the date and the latitude. It has a fully qualified 16 point compass rose at its centre. It shows the time from 4a.m. to 8p.m. in Roman Numerals, using IIII for four. Inside the Chapter Ring there is a fractional time ring with 5 minute, 15 minute, 30 minute and 60 minute divisions. It has a solid bronze gnomon. The dial is decorated in the four corners with leaf designs inside a quadrant; the north-east corner is broken. Ref: Michael Harley, www.sundials-ireland.com
