BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Lilliesleaf Kirk, Lilliesleaf

The dial is inset in a deep granite frame in the south wall of the church. The inscriptions are hard to make out but the date at the top is 1642 and the motto across the bottom is ’WATCH AND PRAY / TIME STAYS NOT’. Below the date there are two letters ’W’ and possibly an ’M’. The hours are VI - XII - IIII - VI, with full length hour lines. On the stone surround is inscribed: ’Found & restored 1916’.
