BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Bank House, Howtown

The dial is over the porch. Across the top is ’Ye Tyde Floes’ and across the bottom ’Ye Tyme Goes’. There is a small carved figure in each corner, possibly including a sheep and a goat. Hour lines are marked from 1 to 8 with 6 at the vertical, so they are decorative only and will never tell the time. The dial is flanked by carved figures, a hart to the left, a lion to the right and a smiling sun above.
