BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Michael’s Church, Loughor

The dial appears to be of red sandstone. It is mounted in a natural coloured stone frame inset into the grey stone wall at the apex of the south porch. It uses upright Arabic hour numerals, divided to half hours. The date 1757 is across the gnomon, and there was possibly some small inscription below that, commencing ’D . . .’. In the lower section is the motto which is somewhat eroded but was probably ’Festinat Suprema’ , translated by Gatty (on another dial) as ’The last (hour) hastens on’.
