BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

21, Wykeham Carr Road, Scarborough

The dial is inset into the south stone gable end wall of the property, resting on a stone plinth. It has upright hour numerals VI - XII - IV - VI, with full length hour lines and short half and quarter hour divisions. The date 1830 is across the top, and there is a very faint indication of an inscription across the face of the dial, below the VIII - IV line, with possible letters ’ORA’ towards the right hand end. The iron gnomon is probably a replacement.
