BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Norfolk

The dial is mounted high in the south gable end of the house, over a first floor window. It appears to be made of slate, incised and gilded. The date 1933 is in the top corners, with the motto between ’ LUX UMBRA DEI’. In the small semicircle around the gnomon root is ’S. & C. T’. The numerals VII - XII - IIII - V are aligned with the hour lines which run to the semicircle, with shorter half and quarter hour lines. The gnomon is a square-sectioned rod with one curved brace from a face-mounted bar joined to the style.
