BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Great Comp Gardens, Platt

The dial stands on a good looking circular pedestal on a low circular plinth, overall height 1400 mm estimated. It shows hours V - XII - IV - VII, read from inside and divided to half hours. The southern half of the dial plate has a picture of a wrought iron gate with ‘National Garden Scheme Open’ enscribed within it. Below is engraved ‘Great Comp Charitable Trust, Great Comp Garden, Kent, For 50 years opening to 2017’. Around the lower perimeter of the dial is engraved ‘With thanks from the National Garden Scheme for your generous support.’ This dial replaces that of SRN 6500.
