BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The Railway Public House, Barnet

This is a pair of dials facing about north-east (actually 33° east of north) for the morning hours, 6 to 9am; and north-west, about 57° west of north, for the afternoon, 3 to 7pm. Both dials use upright Arabic hour numerals between the hour lines, and no subdivisions. The Railway Inn was built in 1931 for Truman’s Brewery, and both dials also have ’TRUMAN’ around the face. The gnomons correctly point upwards, but should be swung round to be parallel and both pointing to the Pole Star. As they are they will not tell the time properly.
