BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The Priory, Little Horkesley

The dial is visible from the adjacent churchyard of St Peter & St Paul’s Church. It is supported on a corbel at the upper floor level of the building. Across the top is the unusual palindromic date ’IVXMMXVI’, possibly indicating 4th October 2016? The dial uses upright hour numerals VI - XII - IV - V, divided to 30 and 15 minutes, the half-hour lines with fleur-de-lys heads. Across the bottom of the dial plate is ’Had we but world enough and time’, from Andrew Marvell’s poem ’To His Coy Mistress’. Hour lines and the motto are in blue, the date and the hours are in red, all on a white ground.
