BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Pettifers, Wardington

The dial is mounted on the stonework of the building, between two upper floor windows. Across the top is the date ’MMXII’, gilded. The dial uses upright hour numerals VIII - IIII - VII, with a Greek cross for noon, all gilded. Hour lines radiate from a shield with a black lion holding a flowering rose stem, and eight small roses around the rim. Half hour lines have floral heads and quarter hours are shown as black and white divisions on the chapter ring. The rod gnomon has three tapering small rings as a finial, and a single strut branching into two fixing feet. The chapter ring is light blue, the central area is white and the hour and half hour lines are black.
