BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Somerset

The dial is on the lawn at the west end of the terrace in front of the Ferens teaching block. It is made of Forest of Dean pennant sandstone set in concrete brick paviors. All elements are carved into the sandstone and coloured black. The winter ellipse semi-major axis is 3 m long, and the summer one is 2.25 m. There are NSEW markers, and sunrise and sunset (Bailey) points. A carved wyvern (part of the school badge) is placed to the south of the date scale.
