BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Brockwell Park, Lambeth

The dial is inside the Walled Garden, near the north-east corner. It is on a buttress, and canted, supported by one corbel. It appears that there are limestone plates, one above and one below the dial, extending the width and depth of the buttress. There are extra infill bricks at the left-hand (projecting) side. The date 1775 is in a box at the gnomon root. The motto across the top is said to be ’So Doct Ho In D’ (abbreviated Latin for ‘The Sun teaches the hour in the Day’) - see the reference below. There are hour- and half-hour lines, and 15-minute marks. Numerals X - XII - IIII - VIII are slanted to follow the hour lines, but it is hard to tell which line is being labelled on the afternoon side, as some numerals line up with the shorter lines. The sub-style lies possibly at 3pm. The dial was delineated for a different location, also declining to the west, and pre-dates the construction of the Walled Garden which was early 19th century. Ref: http://www.ipernity.com/doc/stephen.blanchard/31147935 for a picture of the dial unobscured by wisteria.
