BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.
Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.
Hours are in Arabic numerals, with GMT in blue, 4am to 8pm, and BST in red, 5am to 9pm. The date scale has images of leaves, acorns, butterflies, flowers, ducks, rabbits etc., but the colours have faded.
Instructions for use are given on a nearby display board, with the dedication ’In Memory of Councillor Frances King’.
