BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The dial is dated at the south 1785 and possibly inscribed ’Thomas Hart London’, but is probably made in the early 20th century. Inside the chapter ring is the verse ’SERENE I STAND AMONG THE FLOWERS AND ONLY COUNT LIFES SUNNY HOURS / FOR ME DARK DAYS DO NOT EXIST I’M A BRAZEN-FACED OLD OPTIMIST’. The hours are IIII - XII - IIII - VIII, read from the inside, and divided to 30, 15 and 5 minutes, with fleur-de-lis on the half hours and triple dots on the quarters. There is a sun face in the centre, with an 8-point compass rose labelled to NW etc. The gnomon support has curlicues with a five-petalled flower at the centre, and is additionally picked out on both sides with detail; it bears a close resemblance to the gnomon at Anglesey Abbey, SRN 1778, which also bears the same verse.
