BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Roadford Lake, Lifton

This sundial was built to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty the Queen. The gnomon is comprised of six vertical strips of stainless steel. The dial plate is gravel, with hour markers carved V (am) to VIII (pm) on granite blocks which came from the farm buildings that now lie at the bottom of the reservoir. Hour lines are in brick. The delineation includes adjustment for longitude, and an adjacent plaque explains the EoT and how to adjust for BST. Ref: BSS Bulletin 35(i), March 2023, pp22-24
