BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Battersea Park, Wandsworth

The dial is in the Old English Garden, which was refurbished in 2012, and the dial may date from then. It appears to be aligned (almost) with regard to the directions of the paths, rather than north–south. It stands on a cylindrical pedestal 1020mm high, plain apart from rings near the top, on an octagonal base 100mm high in four sections, all limestone. The dial is a two-half-ring armillary sphere or ’bow-string’ dial. The hours are Arabic, 5am to 7pm, divided to half and quarter hours. It bears the inscription on its base ’RQ LTD IL’, possibly indicating the maker.
