BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Cornwall

The dial was made by the owner or keeper of the estate, Mr Ted Coryton. It is laid out in a semi-circle, in the lawn in front of Pentillie Castle. The gnomon is wooden, with a dragon design on the east side. Its base is a granite block from an old sluice found on the estate, 1010 x 580. Unmarked granite slabs indicate the hours from 6am to 6pm, using longer slabs for 6, 9, 12, 3 and 6.
