BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Cornwall

The dial is situated in the ’Eight-bed’ or American Garden. It isn’t shown in the garden plan of 1863 but is in a photograph of 1904. However the name of Dollond places the date as 18th or early 19th century. It is mounted on a circular concrete pillar with capping and base in granite, overall 1019 high, and the base 480 square. The hours are IIII - XII - IIII - VIII, read from outside, with a noon gap and divided to half and quarter hours and to single minutes. Occupying the whole of the central area is an 8-point compass rose labelled to NE etc.
