BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Maypole Garden, Marazion

This is a memorial dial on a plain square-sectioned granite pedestal. Split noon. False date 1767. Numerals read from outside. Hour lines go through the numerals. Sun face in centre of 8-point compass rose, only N,S,E,W labelled. Motto: ’Let others tell of storms and showers I’ll only count your sunny hours’; diamond pattern of four dots between last and first words, otherwise no punctuation.
